A scene that evokes a warm summers day, but one with a hint of possible quickly passing thunder, makes this a powerful yet totally captivating limited edition print.

High summer on the cliffs with wild flowers in the foreground and masses of yellow and white flowers interspersed against a sea of gorgeous aqua are the heady mix of this work. The ever moving waves over the foreground rocks lead to the deeper channel further out which larger vessels can use.

In contrast to the dramatic backdrop are John Dyer (Ted’s son) and Joanne Short (Ted’s daughter in law). They are painting as well as Ted and it will be interesting to see how their images vary, as artists’ can make a scene look very different with their individual interpretation.

To the slight off centre and away to the distance are Falmouth docks whilst closer to hand Pendennis castle overlooks Carrick Roads and a chasing of small sloops.

The waterway stretches for several miles inland with some of the finest anchorages for laying up large boats to be had and certainly more creeks and local fauna that can be explored at one go.

This is an area that needs time to take in the glories of all the wildlife and the sounds of nature.

Even more lovely in person. The colors really pop, and it makes you relax whenever you look at it. We've received a lot of compliments from people who see it in our house.
