John Dyer Painting. Little Stars and Snowflakes, Wells
A magical painting of Wells Cathedral and Glastonbury Tor in the snow by Cornish artist John Dyer. Snow flakes float down from the inky blue sky as young musicians from Wells Cathedral School throw snowballs and explore the transformed landscape. A beautiful loose use of paint and colour come together with the amazing subject of Wells to create a jewel like and very special winter painting.
John Dyer: In the 1950s simple neutral frames became popular for St Ives artists. John chooses an off-white so the lightest tones appear in the painting. The moulding is a variation of 'Salvator Rosa' from Italy. Hand finished in almond white paint.
