John Dyer Painting. A Day at the Beach, Porthtowan
Surfing at Porthtowan inspired this new painting by artist John Dyer. All the fun and joy of a day at the beach is captured in this delightful new canvas. Seagulls and a puffin fly overhead and a scotty dog explores a seagull on the beach. A fantastic window into beach life in Cornwall with Cornish sea pinks and the blue sky completing this perfect painting.
John Dyer: In the 1950s simple neutral frames became popular for St Ives artists. John chooses an off-white so the lightest tones appear in the painting. The moulding is a variation of 'Salvator Rosa' from Italy. Hand finished in almond white paint.

I enjoy looking at it every day now
I bought this picture because it was the beach I used to surf on as a young woman and take my children on. The painting gets it right.. it is a wonderful reminder of days long gone and I enjoy looking at it every day now. The colours are bright and just beautiful. Thank you John Dyer.
