John Dyer paints the Falmouth Oyster Festival Parade

Published on 10/13/2011

The Falmouth Oyster Festival has been opened today and part of the opening event featured artist John Dyer and his new painting “Falmouth Oyster Festival Parade”.

The painting features ‘Arlo’, a giant puppet that has been built through a collaborative community project run by John Frankland, John Dyer and the Oyster Festival.

‘Arlo’ was designed by Katie Phelps, an 11 year old school girl from Falmouth. Katie’s design won the competition that John Dyer helped to judge. John then included her puppet in his latest painting.

Katie was presented with a signed framed limited edition print of the painting on stage at the opening ceremony.
