Painting on the Cliffs, Portscatho, Cornwall. Artscatho Day.

Published on 06/9/2013

Artists John Dyer and Joanne Short joined around thirty other artists for a special painting day 'Artscatho' at Portscatho on 9th June 2013.

John and Joanne are two of Cornwall's most famous plein air painters and their work is widely collected and exhibited.

As the artists quietly set to work on their paintings on the cliff path between Porthcurnick beach and Portscatho many of the artists and public stopped to watch and admire the paintings as they materialised.

"Yours are the best we have seen all day"

was a comment from one admirer who was impressed by the scale and colour of the pieces.

"Wow, oh WOW!"

was another comment.

"It was a perfect day for us painting together on the cliffs, the weather was fantastic and to have the support and enthusiasm of so many artists was lovely. It was wonderful to experience Cornwall at its best and to interpret that directly onto canvas in the warm June sunshine." John Dyer and Joanne Short.
