Painting the Colours of the World
John Dyer is one of Cornwall’s best-loved artists, whose colourful plein-air paintings are also deservedly popular around the world. This beautifully-designed book celebrates the first 50 years of John’s life and art. With many photographs and 320 colour reproductions of his paintings – including his work with the Eden Project, collections from his environmental trips to Costa Rica, the Philippines, Australia and Peru, the atmospheric series ‘Spirit of the Rainforest’, glorious gardens in the UK and on the Côte d’Azur, and his ever-popular Cornish coastal and garden paintings – it is a visual treat. The book finishes with an intriguing glimpse into this dynamic artist’s future plans in ‘Last Chance to Paint’.
“This is a stunning book, beautiful rich colour reproductions of hundreds of paintings and produced on thick silk paper. It is a premium quality production. Full colour glossy hardback cover. You will be delighted with this book and it would make an incredible gift for anyone who loves the art of John Dyer, Cornwall, colour or paintings of the world.”
"I have had the privilege of having John paint my garden, and my house, and enjoyed the way the mood of his paintings changes subtly to reflect their location – both in the UK and overseas – from the beaches of Cornwall to the depths of the rainforest. Atmosphere is everything in a John Dyer painting, and this is a fitting celebration of fifty years spent admiring the world around him, much of it spent depicting that world in paint. His style is like that of no other artist, but then neither is his character."

"Putting together this book Painting the Colours of the World has been a joint effort in the best sense. It includes contributions from his wife Joanne and daughters Martha-Lilly and Wilamena, as well as whole-hearted tributes from many people who have generously shared their thoughts and memories for the book, and lent their treasured paintings to the exhibition at Falmouth Art Gallery with which it coincides. Love this book
This is a beautiful book to keep by the coffee table. It’s a pleasure to leaf through and spend time enjoying John Dyer’s many wonderful paintings over the years, but it’s also an inspiring read; I’ve found myself reading it from cover to cover as the text is very insightful and well written. John Dyer’s journey as an artist is fascinating and I absolutely love his work!

I received my book today and I'm absolutely thrilled with it. The vibrancy, subjects & information are outstanding. I was drawn to John's art because of the stunning colours he uses. We visited the UK in summer in 2018. Unfortunately we couldn't organise a visit to the gallery and living in Melbourne, Australia, I never thought I'd be able to obtain any of John's work. To own an entire book full of John's masterpieces is truly an honour. The highlight of visiting in summer was the beauty of colours throughout the English countryside and now I have that beauty of my own through John's book. Thank you. Warmest wishes, Sue

A book to make you happy...
The artwork is presented in an intelligent and informative format. The text is engaging and the photograhy adds to the narrative throughout the book. The overall impression is of happiness and joy. The quality of the printing is very high for the cost of the book. Highly recommended.

Absolutely beautiful! The photographs of Johns paintings are beautiful, colourful and as with all his artwork , a joy to look at. I can highly recommend this latest book . I paid a little extra for JDs signature to be in the book. Well worth it. I love his work and own a couple of originals by him which I’m very proud to own as I am this book.
