Terms and conditions

  • The competition is open to all children aged 16 and under and will run from the 1 June 2015 to 30 September 2015.

  • The age categories are 5 & under, 6-8, 9-12 and 13-16.

  • Children’s work should be on the theme of the rainforest. The paintings and artwork should be of an appropriate standard for their age. If for any reason this isn’t possible let us know, as we want to celebrate children of all abilities.

  • Please get permission from your parent/guardian or school teacher before sending us your entry.

  • We can only accept one piece of art per child.

  • Pictures can be entered via email – spiritoftherainforest@edenproject.com. You must include your name, age, size of picture, title of picture and what you used to create it in the subject line of the email. For example: John, Age 8, birds in the Rainforest, watercolour on A3 paper

  • If you are a teacher and wish to send several in one email, please make sure the information is contained in the file name of each image. For example: john-age-8-birds-in-the-rainforest-watercolour-on-A3-paper.jpg

  • We will publish the information you send so please only give us information that you are happy for us to make public.

  • When sending in your work we must have a good quality image of your artwork; sharp, well-lit, straight and with your picture filling the frame.  Please crop into the image so the only thing we can see is your piece of art – no people, carpets or backgrounds please. Smart phones are a great way to send work to us as they generally have good cameras and offer basic image editing tools to crop your feet out and to improve colour.

  • By sending us your work you give the Eden Project, The John Dyer Gallery and our working partners the right to reproduce it on the web, send it to the media, broadcast it and to possibly print your picture out for display.

  • All pictures will be moderated and the Eden Project reserves the right to refuse entry if we feel a piece of work is unsuitable in content or quality. This could be for a number of reasons including poor photography, if the image has been obviously traced, or if it includes copyright material.

  • If your work doesn’t arrive with us then we will be unable to display it - you should see your work on our online gallery within 14 days of submitting it. If it isn’t there please send it again or contact us on: spiritoftherainforest@edenproject.com

  • We intend to print the top 300 art entries and display them at the Eden Project in October, but if for any reason this is not possible a selection will be chosen for display and/or the pictures will only be displayed online.

  • We intend to publish all of the submitted entries online. However if an entry is unsuitable or if we have too many entries to be able to publish them all we will publish a selection of the best work.

  • You can post us your artwork, however please be aware you are responsible for any postage costs and we will be unable to return your work to you.  If you would like to post your artwork the address is: Spirit of the Rainforest, Eden Project, Bodelva, Cornwall PL24 2SG

  • The judge’s decision is final.
